Mercedes-Maybach S-Class the most expensive and comfortable sedan in the modern Mercedes-Benz model line. The world premiere of the model took place in November 2014 simultaneously at the Los Angeles Auto Show and Auto Guangzhou in China. The novelty received the index X222.

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class X222 differs from the usual Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222 primarily in overall dimensions - with a length of 5433 mm and a wheelbase of 3365 mm, the Maybach is 20 mm longer than the S-class in the Long version ("base" also more by 20 mm), and the increase fell on the rear of the car. At the same time, the length of the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Pullman limousine with the second and third row seats turned to each other reached 6499 mm, and the wheelbase grew to 4418 mm.

The chic rear seats of the S-Class Maybach are now separate. Each of them is electronically controlled, has a large number of different positions and is equipped with a massage function. Also, a wide list of additional options is available for passengers in the rear of the cabin: speakers with a sound amplifier for communication with the front of the cabin, work tables and cup holders with the ability to cool or warm drinks, and other equipment. According to the manufacturer, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is a sedan with the quietest interior in the world and the best options for adjusting the internal “climate”.

The S 500 and S 600 versions were launched first, in February 2015. The first is equipped with a 445 hp V8 4.7 biturbo engine. (torque 700 Nm), and the second - a V12 6.0 biturbo engine with a return of 530 hp. (830 Nm). In the summer of the same year, the Mercedes-Maybach division began producing the all-wheel drive Mercedes-Maybach S 500 4MATIC.

In February 2018, the updated Maybachs debuted at the Geneva Motor Show with a new grille inspired by the Vision Mercedes‑Maybach 6 concept, an optional two-tone body scheme, and additional interior design combinations. Restyled cars are presented in versions S 560 and S 560 4MATIC with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with a capacity of 469 hp. (700 Nm) and S 560 with a V12 6.0 engine that produces 630 hp. (1000 Nm). The V8 engine is combined with a 9-speed "automatic", and the 12-cylinder - with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is produced in Germany.
