Description Mercedes-Benz AMG GT

AMG GT is the new sports flagship, fully developed by AMG. First released under its own brand, and not as Mercedes-Benz. It is presented in four versions (unnamed, GT S, GT C and GT R) and is intended to replace the SLS AMG family in the Mercedes lineup, as well as become a competitor to the Porsche 911.

The sports car is built on a chassis with a lightweight frame, more than 90% aluminum. The curb weight varies between 1540 - 1570 kg, depending on the version and equipment. The mass is distributed along the axles in a ratio of 47:53 with priority on the rear axle.

The car is equipped with a new 4.0 V8 twin-turbo engine (index M178). In the basic version, the power unit develops 462 hp. and maximum torque of 600 Nm. On the Mercedes-AMG GT S, the engine will produce 510 hp. and 650 Nm. In the AMG GT C modification, the engine output reaches 557 hp. and 680 Nm, and on the AMG GT R - 585 hp. and 700 Nm. In all cases, a seven-speed preselective "robot" Speedshift AMG is used.

The suspension is fully independent, with forged aluminum double wishbones, adaptive dampers, three-way stability control and adjustable steering. All settings are brought to the AMG Dynamic Select control module.

The differential is mechanical in the basic configuration, in the S version - with an electronically controlled unit that affects the thrust vector. The brakes are also worthy of respect - 360 mm ventilated brake discs are provided as standard (390 mm for the S version). But as an additional option, you can order carbon-ceramic, with a diameter of 402 mm at the front and 360 mm at the rear.

Mercedes-AMG is produced almost entirely by hand. The production of the model has been established at the Mercedes-Benz plant in the German city of Sindelfingen.
