Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe - "coupe-like" option crossover GLE (the new name for the restyled Mercedes-Benz M-class) was introduced in January 2015 at the Detroit Auto Show. The model received the factory index C292 and became a direct competitor bmw x6.
The new version of the crossover was six centimeters (1733 mm) lower than the "regular" GLE, but received the same wheelbase - 2915 mm. In length and width (4900 and 2003 mm, respectively), the GLE Coupe is almost identical to the BMW X6, but the trunk of the Mercedes is 80 liters more spacious: 650 liters in the standard position of the backs and 1720 liters with the backs folded. In addition to this, the “coupe-crossover” received a shortened steering rack and stepless adjustment of adaptive dampers instead of a four-position one.
In the basic version, the GLE Coupe has a conventional spring suspension, but an Airmatic air suspension with an adaptive damping system ADS Plus is optional. And all versions can boast 4MATIC all-wheel drive (on sports AMG versions, traction is distributed in a ratio of 40:60 with priority to the rear wheels) and a nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission or a 7-speed AMG Speedshift 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission for “charged” modifications . Engines can be both diesel and gasoline, with power from 258 (GLE 350 d) to 585 (AMG GLE 63 S) hp.
Serial production of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is organized at the company's plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA.
