The updated GLC adopted some of the design features of its older brother - Mercedes-Benz GLE. The similarity is expressed in the form of headlights, which have become LED already in the basic configuration (optionally available matrix) and the design of the radiator grille. In addition, compared to pre-reform model the bumpers, the structure of the rear lights and the design of the rims have changed.
Inside, there is a new steering wheel with touch buttons, an optional 12.3-inch display instead of the arrow instrument panel and a new 10.25-inch infotainment system display, which is also offered as an option. The “multimedia” itself is a new MBUX complex with touch input and support for voice input and gesture commands. On the center console, a touchpad with tactile feedback has taken the place of the remote control with a rotary selector. The restyled GLC also features an Energizing feature that synchronizes music, climate, massage, and seat settings to keep you in the mood.
In addition, the range of four-cylinder engines has been completely updated. Instead of the 2.0-liter M274 turbo unit for the GLC 200 and GLC 300 modifications, the updated crossover received an M264 engine with a Camtronic variable valve timing system, a dual-flow turbocharger and a belt-driven starter-generator that helps the internal combustion engine during acceleration and generates energy during braking. On the "two hundred" the M274 engine develops 197 hp. and 280 Nm, and on the "three hundredth" - 258 hp. and 370 Nm.
Instead of the OM 651 diesel turbo four, the OM 654 engine with a modified exhaust and a new catalyst is now being installed. It is available in three boost versions: 163 hp. and 360 Nm on the 200 d version, 194 hp. and 400 Nm at 220 d and 245 hp, 500 nm at 300 d. As a gearbox, a 9-speed "automatic" 9G-TRONIC was used.
The restyled Mercedes GLC can be fitted with a Dynamic Body Control spring suspension with adaptive dampers, which was previously offered only for coupe version of the model. Air suspension is an option.
Finally, Mercedes-Benz has improved the complex of electronic "assistants". The adaptive cruise control can now automatically resume driving after a stop while driving in traffic jams, and the parking assistant can help when reversing with a trailer.
Mercedes-Benz GLC is produced in Germany.
