Mercedes-Benz GLA - front- or all-wheel drive C-class crossover. The appearance of the new "SUV" provided Mercedes-Benz with the first place among European manufacturers in the premium segment in terms of the number of crossovers in the lineup.

Built GLA on the same platform with A-class. The overall length of the crossover is 4417 mm, the width is 1804 mm and the height is 1494 mm. The trunk in the normal state is ready to accommodate 421 liters, and with the rear seats folded down - 836 liters. Optionally, the tailgate can be equipped with a servo drive.

Sales of the car will begin in 2014. The range of power plants will first turn on four engines:

• 1.6-liter petrol turbo engine (156 hp);

• 2.0-liter gasoline turbo unit (211 hp);

• 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 136 hp (300 Nm of torque);

• 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 170 hp (350 Nm of torque).

The most powerful petrol (211 hp) and diesel (170 hp) engines are aggregated by default with a seven-speed “robot” 7G-DCT. Motors with a capacity of 156 and 136 hp. a manual transmission for six gears is put, and a robotic box is offered only for a surcharge. However, when ordering the optional 4Matic plug-in all-wheel drive system, an automated transmission is the only option.

By default, all traction in all-wheel drive versions is sent to the front wheels, but if necessary, the torque between the front and rear axles can vary in a full range. Thus, the rear wheels can get up to 100% traction. The rear axle is connected using an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch.

A long list of electronic assistants will be available as options for the Mercedes-Benz GLA, including car parking, systems blind spot monitoring, control and hold your lane, "smart lighting system».

For the exterior and interior, the company has prepared several stylistic solutions (off-road and sporty).

The public premiere of the crossover, which became the smallest "SUV" of the brand, was held in September 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
