Mercedes-Benz E-Class Convertible (A207) 2014 - Collision avoidance systems are standard on the model (Collision Prevention Assist) with the function of automatic braking, fatigue control and attentiveness (Attention Assist), adjustable suspension (Agility Control).
In addition, for a surcharge, you can order other assistants that increase not only the level of safety, but also comfort:
valet (Active Parking Assist), who learned how to perform parallel and perpendicular parking;
full LED headlights;
all-round cameras;
traffic sign recognition system (Traffic Sign Assist), which is now able to warn about overtaking bans and the lifting of related restrictions;
advanced adaptive lighting system (Adaptive High Beam Assist PLUS), which now does not switch from high beam to low beam, but corrects the beams of light in such a way that in any mode it does not blind oncoming and passing drivers;
active in-line system (Active Lane Keeping Assist), which will save both from an accidental exit, and from a side collision, and from a dangerous exit to the “oncoming lane”;
advanced emergency braking system with cross-traffic assistance (BAS Plus with Junction Assist), which recognizes perpendicular traffic and pedestrians crossing the road;
autopilot (DISTRONIC PLUS with Steering Assist), which is guided not only by the markings, but also by the cars in front.
As for the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the rear impact detection system is also available for the convertible (PRE-SAFE®PLUS), which in case of danger warns the rear driver by flashing emergency lights, while increasing their brightness.
Prepared for an open two-door and several "convertible" options: a system that minimizes noise and wind in the cabin when driving with the roof folded (AirCap), as well as special chairs with heating deflectors in the neck area (AirScarf). The "air cap" has learned to automatically extend a special deflector in the upper part of the windshield at speeds above 40 km/h, and at speeds less than 15 km/h - carefully hide the "visor" back.
The Air Scarf has not received any special improvements, which does not detract from its merits, because the optional heating in the neck area, as before, is ready to add a few more pleasant days of driving with the roof down even after the end of the "open" season.
The convertible roof is made of soft material and is equipped with a drive that folds it in 20 seconds.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet is offered in rear-wheel drive only. The power of gasoline and diesel power plants varies from 170 to 408 hp. The type of gearbox depends on the selected engine. A six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed 7G-Tronic Plus automatic are provided. The model is produced in Germany, available on the Ukrainian market since the end of May 2013.
