Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe - The second generation of the model (index C205) debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015. The coupe is much sportier than the sedan and more reminiscent of the flagship S-class coupe. Especially at the rear, with extended taillights that don't look so expressive here.
Compared to its predecessor, the new coupe has stretched by 95 mm, of which 80 mm is an increase in the base. The width of the C-class Coupe was 40 mm, of which 29 mm was added to the width of the cabin at the level of the elbows.
On standard 17-inch wheels, the coupe's ground clearance is lowered by 15 mm compared to the same sedan.
At the start of sales, it was offered with four gasoline engines. The line opens with the C 180 with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder unit with 156 hp, continues with the two-liter C 200 (184 hp) and C 250 (211 hp), and completes the offer with the C 300, also with a two-liter unit , but already with a power of 245 hp. The last, most powerful variant is available with 4Matic all-wheel drive.
Both diesel versions are equipped with an improved four-cylinder engine with 170 hp. or 204 hp Both feature environmentally friendly SRC (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology for exhaust gas aftertreatment. All engines meet Euro-6 environmental standards and consume an average of 20% less fuel.
The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe has become lighter and stiffer than its predecessor, and also boasted an excellent drag value, which is only 0.26.
Safety issues should not arise even when buying a basic coupe. In addition to the already standard set of airbags, there are curtain airbags front and rear, as well as a knee for the driver. Already in the basic version there is a system that warns the driver about the need to rest and hold in the lane. Automatic braking when an obstacle is detected works at speeds from 7 to 200 km / h, adaptive cruise control also works up to 200 km / h. If PreSafe detects that someone is too slow to brake behind you, it will automatically tighten the seat belts to reduce the risk of injury.
Of the pleasant things, we can note the belt supply system, because it can be difficult to reach it in a compartment, but this is no longer an innovation, especially for the C-class Coupe. There is a parking assistant and an all-round camera that makes it as easy as possible to navigate in the parking lot and the parking itself. Is it worth talking about the variety of interior decoration options? But there are even more sporty AMG versions!
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is produced at the Daimler plant in Bremen (Germany).
