Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet (A205) - rear or all-wheel drive convertible based on coupe and sedan C class. It differs from the four-door version by a suspension lowered by 15 mm and 17-inch wheels in the basic version. European sales of the model started in the summer of 2016.
The convertible roof system of the C-Class cabriolet was borrowed with technical modifications from the flagship S-Class Cabriolet. The soft top folds and unfolds in 20 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h. The folded roof is located in a special compartment in the trunk. In this case, the backs of the second row are folded in a ratio of 50:50.
As is the case with the open versions of the E- and S-Class models, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is available with AirCap (reduction of air turbulence in the rear) and AirScarf (supply of warm air to the necks of the driver and front passenger). The principle of operation of the AirCap system is shown in the video.
Another "highlight" of the model is the automatic supply of seat belts for the driver and front passenger. After boarding the passenger compartment, the seat belt automatically adjusts to a comfortable grip position. The automatic feeding of seat belts can also be started using the button on the center console.
Mercedes-Benz's smallest convertible is available in rear- and all-wheel drive versions, with 4-, 6- and 8-cylinder engines:
Petrol:
Diesel:
Versions C 180, C 200 and C 220 d can be equipped with a 6-speed "mechanics" or a 9-speed "automatic" 9G-TRONIC. More efficient engines, including those in the AMG C 43 modification, are combined only with a 9-speed automatic transmission. And for the top-end cars from the AMG line, there is a quick-fire 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch “robot”.
The C-Class Convertible is equipped by default with a suspension with a selective damping system that changes the damping force depending on the speed. Optionally, an AIRMATIC suspension with pneumatic elements “in a circle” can also be installed.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet is produced at the Daimler plant in Bremen (Germany).
